I've tried seven different types of digestive enzymes and this one works the best for me. The other digestive enzymes that come in second, third and fourth are also by Nature's Plus. I've heard that different digestive enzymes work for different people so there may not be one that is "best" but if you haven't tried any, start with this one. I haven't had any bad side effects from these. I take them to help my body process carbohydrates. I have B6 toxicity and if I take one or two of these digestive enzymes with meals I'm in far less pain than I am when I don't take them.
Another reason I like them more than the others I've tried is that they are in tablet form instead of capsule. I keep a handful of them in my jeans pocket at all times so that I don't have to carry a bottle with me. They're less likely to spill and break in my pockets than capsules.
I had one bottle for over 2 years and there was no expiration date stamped on that bottle. They still worked effectively.
